South Dakota State University uses WebAdvisor as a help for students and faculty to make them easier in accessing their needs related to campus. By the existence of WebAdvisor, students can check their grades, check their schedules, registering for class, doing payment, getting financial aid and some other benefits. This program make students easy to access what they need even when they are not at campus.
To access WebAdvisor, you have to go to https://mydsu.dsu.edu and then use your BORIS username and password. You may not know what your BORIS username and password are. Your BORIS username and password can be used not only for WebAdvisor but also for D2L, ImageNow, Starfish, and the My DSU portal. You can access https://boris.sdbor.edu/idm/retrieve-email.cfm to retrieve your BORIS username and to reset your password. You need to complete the form to display your BORIS username. Then, from drop down menu, select the email address that you want the system to use for your temporary password and then click the Send Me a Temporary Password button. To access the system to reset your password, use your temporary password. When you create a new password, you have to note some things including containing at least 2 numbers, no special characters, and 6 to 9 characters in length. You may not have an email address that is recorded in the student system, if so you need to request that one to be added for you and you can email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you want to log in to your WebAdvisor account, you can access it from the MyDSU portal. If you have logged into the portal, you do not need to log into WebAdvisor. You can also access WebAdvisor from the DSU homepage. Choose Log In from either the Main Menu or from the Prospective Students, Students or Faculty Menus. If then, you forget or even you do not know your username or password, you have to click on the What’s My Username and Reset My Password link which you can find on the Main Menu. When you have finished accessing your confidential student information, make sure that you Log Out from the menu. Someday, you may want to change your contact information. If so, you can click on the DSU Name and Address Change link that you can find on the Student and Faculty pages. Complete the name and address change form. This form will produce an email to enrollment services, career services, alumni/foundation, and the Business Office for payroll and loan collection.
Students have to confirm that they will attend a South Dakota Board of Regents university each semester in which they are enrolled. You are able to use this option to specify your payment information and refund preferences, verify your address on record and also confirm your attendance registration. If you are still confused about using WebAdvisor, you do not need to be worried because in the WebAdvisor South Dakota State University, they provide you a guide for using WebAdvisor in the form of PDF.
